Dr Olaru works as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist In Cork University Maternity Hospital. Her clinical interests include management of benign gynaecological conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, PCOS, ovarian cysts and obstetric/antenatal care.

Dr Olaru is a medical graduate of University of Medicine and Pharmacology “Iuliu Hatieganu” Cluj Napoca, Romania in 2007. She began training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Romania in 2008 where she worked for 3 years. In 2011, Dr Olaru moved to Ireland and continued training in the speciality .

She was awarded a masters in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with University College Cork in 2017 and has dual membership of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland (MRCPI) 2016 and Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG) 2022.

Dr Olaru has completed a Labour Ward Fellowship in the National Maternity Hospital in 2020 and a Complex Gynaecology Fellowship in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital In Dublin 2021. She was awarded Specialist Registration with the Medical Council in 2021.

Dr Olaru has been working as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist since 2021 in Our Lady of Lourdes Drogheda Hospital and Cork University Maternity Hospital.

Within Cork University Maternity Hospital, Adriana is the clinical lead of the Ambulatory Gynae Service. Her areas of expertise are benign gynaecology (open and minimally invasive surgical procedures: hysteroscopic resections of fibroids and polyps, mirena coil removal and insertion, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, oophorectomy, hysterectomy) and antenatal care/delivery.
